Nearly an amazing race?

14.07.2024

Okay...so this got me having mixed feelings about this race. I mean I did good...but at the same time I did shit. Let me explain

Tests: So, test 1, we lost a-lot of time because I spun out and got stuck into the gravel. However, after that specific test, we found that the frame of the car was BENT. BENT. Which could be the result of the collision in the first race at Ljungbyhell, this meant that the suspension will be altered, quite significantly but fortunately, speedlab, as always was there to fix it and the rest of the tests...went quite well.
Quali: The qualifications wasn't so special, I got P12 with 7 tenths separating me and P8 so it was very VERY TIGHT. Because of Andreas Skatteboe coaching and track walk in the day before Quali, I managed to get a decent position into the race so THX!!!
Race 1: Race 1 was actually not so bad. The track got damp but not wet and in the first lap, the dampness caught me off-guard to spin out so SKILL ISSUE. But...I wasn't giving up, with a-lot of skill and luck, I managed to fight my way into P8 and I had an amazing fight with Jonathan Ohlander and that guy was a literal god when it comes to putting pressure cause for the whole race, I could not stop looking at my mirrors to make sure he was still behind me.
Race 2: Not so much happened, dropped to P10 because of Skatteboe and Jonathan overtaking me around the first few laps and for the whole race I was practically alone.
Race 3: I had an amazing position but of course, my skill issue had to kick in and I spun out around the final minutes of the race and I collided with Kalle Svenson who had dnf in race 2 and dsq in race 1 and this collision caused the both of us to retire from the race.

And what I learned was that I need to be better in the correction and because the track was also warmer, the tyres got hotter so any mistake involving oversteer or understeer can carry to the next corner which as bad. But this kind of thing happens and thankfully the next race is in Gellerasen so it is a track I know. Phew!

Lets start with the Junior classes. I got to give this to Alex Gustavsson, he has attained his first win in Aquila and in his rookie season! He is really good at racing, since he has went to different racing series f. ex. Nxt Gen, so the guy has lots of experience! Congratulations to Alex for getting the win, and I hope that maybe he can slightly hinder Richard Olsson cause I mean come on, Richard is just another Max Verstappen.
In the Rookie class. This one...unfortunately, if I had to argue, It has to be me. Not being so self-centered and everything but this race I actually did good, maintained consistent pace, keep my position and kept my cool except in race 3 where it all falls down. I hope that this can be carried out into the next race in Gellerasen so...lots of things needed to be trained!!!
